Frank de Boer believes his Ajax team will go into Sunday’s Eredivisie match away to Feyenoord as favourites.
Reigning champions Ajax had to settle for a 1-1 draw in the first league meeting between the teams at the Amsterdam ArenA on October 23.
But head coach De Boer feels his team have more quality than their Rotterdam-based opponents and will be well placed to take all three points this weekend.
“We are the better team, because we have better individual players. I saw some very encouraging things against AZ last week,” De Boer said on the Ajax website, referring to a 3-2 home loss in the Dutch Cup round of 16.
“Feyenoord have been very inconsistent, just like us. They’ve had some great games, but also some very weak performances. Plus they’re a completely different team in away games.”
“They always feel a bit more confident in De Kuip with the support of the fans. That doesn’t worry me though. My players have played in games like these before.”
