Frank de Boer believes that Ajax have the Eredivisie title almost within their grasp after a 2-0 win over Groningen on Sunday.
The Amsterdam giants currently sit atop the table with 67 points from 31 games, holding a six-point lead over rivals AZ and Feyenoord with only three more games to go.
“We have one hand on the title. The important thing now is to put the other hand on it as well,” De Boer said after the match at the Amsterdam ArenA.
“We are not completely there yet, but things are looking good for us. We are almost there.
“It was not an easy game against such a defensive team, but the important thing is that we won. We dominated the full 90 minutes and I’ve seen some good things.”
If AZ and Feyenoord draw when they meet next weekend, Ajax can secure the league title with a win over Twente.
