Ajax coach Frank de Boer says he is interested in making signings in January but is also content with the quality of depth at his disposal.
The Eredivisie champions are fourth in the league and have been knocked out of the Champions League following a 4-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
That predicament has left de Boer flirting with the idea of making additions to his squad.
“Good players are always welcome,” he told reporters.
“But you have to be careful, you might think that you need a certain player without realising you have cover.
“Suppose we move for a striker in the winter, and then Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Ryan Babel both return to fitness, then we have Danny Hoesen, Siem de Jong and Christian Eriksen.”
The 42-year-old spoke about the quality of the club’s youth setup and remains keen on continuing their tradition of blooding young talent.
“We also have to remember the youth players who jump at the chance to make the step up. That is the power of Ajax,” de Boer said.
