De Bruyne claims Dortmund move was blocked by Mourinho

Kevin De Bruyne has claimed that Jose Mourinho blocked his move to Borussia Dortmund as he couldn’t strike a deal for Robert Lewandowski, according to the Metro.

The midfielder secured a move to Wolfsburg during the January transfer window after failing to hold down a first team place with the Blues.

He made just nine appearances in all competitions during his time in English football, having been loaned back to Genk when he was initially signed in 2012, before spending the entirety of last season with Werder Bremen.

De Bruyne is confident that Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp was keen on signing him, as they looked to catch Bayern Munich in the race for the Bundesliga title.

The 22 year old has made six league appearances since moving to the Volkswagen Arena, and can be backed at odds of 20/1 to get his first goal for the club with the opener against Bayern on Saturday afternoon.
