De Gea confirms Manchester United exit, Onana transfer close
David De Gea has announced his decision to leave Manchester United.
De Gea’s contract expired at United the end of June and there were talks over a possibility of signing a new one, and neither side seemed to be in rush to get it done. The Spanish goalkeeper has obviously made his choice now and has already said his farewells via social media.
I just wanted to send this farewell message to all Manchester United supporters.
I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club. I took incredible… pic.twitter.com/6R7ezOEf1E

Meanwhile, United have been pursuing Inter Milan’s Andre Onana for some time, seeking to make sure they’re not left hanging if De Gea leaves, and they’ve obviously done well to do so. The terms between the 20-time English champions and the 27-year-old Cameroonian shot-stopper have already been agreed, and the talks between Inter and United look promising at this point.
Fabrizio Romano expects the deal to be sealed by the end of next week.

Chelsea boss Pochettino plays down Kane reunion talk
As Chelsea, under former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino, seek for a new striker, while Harry Kane seeks for an honorable way to leave the club where he was coached by the Argentinian tactician, the link was inevitable, wasn’t it?
However, Pochettino has played the suggestions down, by saying it wouldn’t even be right to talk about Kane at this point.
As things stand, the England captain will either remain in North London for what will be the last year of contract at Spurs, or join Bayern Munich in a big-money move. The Bavarians have so far seen all their approaches rejected, but their interest doesn’t seem to be going away and Kane himself is believed to be open to moving to Munich.
Newcastle pursue Harvey Barnes
Newcastle are reportedly looking to obtain the services of Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes.
Manager Eddie Howe is said to be keen on having the 25-year-old in his ranks, and the player himself is interested in the move after Leicester suffered relegation at the end of 2022/23.
Barnes is a talented player who can play in midfield as well if need be, and his quality would certainly be welcome at St. James’ Park as the Magpies prepare for the 2023/24 Champions League campaign.
Roma bring back Leeds defender Diego Llorente on another loan
Diego Llorente has returned AS Roma on another loan from Leeds United.
The 29-year-old centre-back was sent to Rome on loan for the second half of 2022/23, and the Serie A club were very pleased with the way he adapted to the challenges of a different league.
Robin Koch recently left Leeds for Eintracht Frankfurt, and more departures from Elland Road are expected following their relegation from the Premier League.
