The Telegraph is reporting that the injury David De Gea sustained while on international duty could persuade Manchester United to take a gamble with Victor Valdes.
The former Barcelona goalkeeper has been training at Old Trafford as he steps up his recovery from a serious injury and he is expected to be offered a contract by the Red Devils once he proves his fitness.
And while Valdes recently confirmed he was on the verge of returning to full fitness, Manchester United officials are not convinced he is ready for first team action just yet.
However, with first choice keeper David De Gea suffering a dislocated finger while on international duty, the Red Devils may be forced to offer his compatriot a contract sooner than expected.
Even so, back-up keeper Anders Lindegaard is likely to deputize for De Gea in next week’s high-profile clash against Arsenal, where Manchester United are 21/10 to claim maximum points.
