De Gea’s Man United future remains uncertain

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Manchester United have made no real progress in sorting out David De Gea’s contract situation. The goalkeeper is still holding off on the diea of signing a new deal, and is set to be out of contract next summer. He is believed to be interested in signing a pre-contract agreement with another club, likely from abroad, in January. The Spanish international wants assurances that United are going to be competing for major honours in order to consider staying, and he also wants his wages to be in line with some of the other top earners – such as Alexis Sanchez. De Gea seemed destined to make the move over to Real Madrid not so long ago, but the Spanish giants wound up going after Courtois instead (which is a move that has had mixed results).

Can he interest Real once again? Based on recent form, it may not be a possibility anymore.
