Swansea City have re-signed Dutch forward Jonathan De Guzman on a season-long loan from Villareal.
The 25 year old featured in all but one of the Welsh side’s recent Premier League campaign, though the highlight of his season came in the final of the League Cup, when he scored the Swans last two goals in the 5-0 win over Bradford City at Wembley.
That victory clinched Swansea’s first ever piece of major silverware and secured European football for Michael Laudrop’s side for the forthcoming campaign, while their ninth place finish in the top flight was their best in over thirty years.
His form saw him earn his first call up for the Netherlands for a friendly against Italy back in February, and he has since made five international appearances.
De Guzman becomes Swansea’s third signing of the summer, with the club having already secured the services of Spanish pair Jose Alberto Cañas and Jordi Amat from Real Betis and Espanyol respectively.
