Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong has all but agreed to extend his stay at San Siro, according to Tuttosport.
Until few weeks ago, it looked as though the highly rated footballer would be leaving the club when his contract expired in June, but it appears he has changed his mind.
With his suitors failing to step up their interest, De Jong reportedly agreed a two-year extension with the Rossoneri.
The Netherlands international even accepted a serious wage cut seeing as he will now be earning €2.5 million per campaign as opposed to the 3.5 million he has been pocketing per season so far.
However, with Marco van Ginkel, Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari all leaving, coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is eager to recruit at least another talented midfielder.
Tuttosport has suggested that Serie A starlets Andrea Bertolacci, Jose Mauri, Daniele Baselli and Roberto Soriano are on his radar at the moment.
