Manchester City executive chairman Garry Cook has confirmed that Hamburg have accepted an offer for midfield star Nigel de Jong.
The Dutch midfielder is now set for contract talks with the Premier League side.
Reports say Hamburg accepted a bid of around £16million for the 24-year-old Dutch international.
“We have made an offer to Hamburg and, respectfully, they have said the player is for sale,” Cook told Sky Sports News.
“We have agreed a price and now it is down to discussing the deal with the player and his agent.”
It is believed the move will be completed within the next 48 hours.
