(GSM) – Two early goals handed Ajax a comfortable lead over arch rivals Feyenoord in the first leg of the Dutch Cup final.
The final consists of two legs for the first time in many years after Dutch FA chairman Henk Kesler decided that it would be too dangerous to allow fans of the clubs to travel to each other’s cities. As such, only home fans are allowed in the two games.
Ajax was the better side from the start and needed just six minutes for in-form forward Siem de Jong to score the opening goal.
And Feyenoord had not even recovered from that blow when the 21-year-old added a second a minute later.
The rest of the match was slightly more balanced with Ajax still dominating in attack, but no more goals were score.
The return leg will be played in Rotterdam’s De Kuip stadium on May 6.
