According to the Daily Express, Chelsea have received information from the representatives of Frenkie de Jong that the Barcelona midfielder could be willing to consider moving to Stamford Bridge in January.
De Jong was an object of a very long saga this summer, with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag extremely keen on reuniting with his former charge at Ajax. There were reports suggesting the 20-time English champions had reached an agreement with the Catalans, but De Jong himself simply wouldn’t leave Camp Nou.
Since the closing of the window, it has been reported that Liverpool and Chelsea were willing to enter the race for the 25-year-old at the end of the season. Both these clubs are widely believed to be lacking quality in the middle of the park, and it seems the Netherlands international, who has scored once in 12 appearances for Barcelona this term so far, at the moment considers the London Blues as a plausible destination.
