Matthijs de Ligt of Ajax has informed Juventus that he wants to play for them, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport).
The captain of the Dutch champions has been linked with every major club across Europe throughout the season which saw him lead his team to the Champions League semifinal. Reports about a possible reunion with Frenkie de Jong emerged straight after the midfielder agreed to join Barcelona, with the Catalans confirming their interested publicly several times. De Jong often spoke about de Ligt joining him at Camp Nou too. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich worked hard on tempting the 19-year-old defender too, while media in England linked him with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.
However, it seems that Juventus are the club that showed the most determination of them all to see de Ligt in their shirt, and it appears that the player himself has made up hi mind and is set to move to Turin, though Juventus and Ajax are still to agree on a fee.
