de Ligt is Barca’s priority

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona’s priority is to sign a defender in the January transfer window after Samuel Umtiti’s recent injury. The belief is that Matthijs de Ligt is indeed at the top of their wish list, although that won’t come as much of a surprise to anyone. The Dutch star has been heavily linked with a switch to the Nou Camp for quite some time now, although it seems as if the deal has been slightly ‘dragged out’ in that time.

While there’s no official confirmation that things have been moving slower than expected, it certainly seems like the Spanish champions have been forced to graft more so than they usually would for a deal of this magnitude.

de Ligt has long since been viewed as one of the most exciting youngsters in European football, and will likely make a big splash in La Liga once the deal is (probably) done.
