The list of clubs interested in Matthijs de Ligt of Ajax is growing longer by the day it seems, with Juventus being the latest addition.
The media in Spain are adamant the Dutch international will end up at Barcelona, with Ateltico Madrid posing as the most serious competition. Bayern Munich has been mentioned in Germany, Paris Saint-Germain in France, English media spoke of Arsenal’s interest while the player himself said that joining his international centre-back partner Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool “could happen”.
Now, Turin-based outlet Tuttosport have added their own favorite for the race – Serie A leaders Juventus, and they also see Barcelona as the biggest obstacle on that course.
However, they also say that Juventus, should they fail to land de Ligt, would be ready to turn to either Benfica’s Ruben Dias or Stefan Savić of Atletico Madrid.
Yet to turn 20 (in August this year), the youngster has been identified as the world’s next big centre-back, having shown incredible levels of composure and maturity in his play, along with great natural ability.
