De Ligt to wait to make decision on future

According to a recent report from Sport, Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt is set to wait until the end of the current season in order to make a decision regarding his future. The 19 year old wonderkid, who played a huge part in helping the Dutch giants defeat Juventus in the Champions League, is a wanted man with several top clubs around Europe being interested in securing his services. Barcelona seem to be pretty confident that they’re going to be the ones that land his signature, with Frenkie de Jong having already confirmed his move to the Nou Camp.

However, given that there’s a good chance Barcelona and Ajax will play each other in the Champions League Final this season, it seems as if de Ligt thought it’d be a conflict of interest to declare where he wants to go next season.

Whatever the case may be, the youngster is in for a whirlwind few months.
