According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, the situation surrounding Matthijs de Ligt has experienced yet another development. The report suggests that the teenage sensation is going to wait and see whether or not Barcelona make a move on him before he actually decides what to do regarding his future. Matthijs has been heavily linked with a move away from Ajax over the course of the last few months, and things have intensified ever since the future of Frenkie de Jong was confirmed.

Barca are set to sign de Jong with a deal already having been put in place, with the Spanish champions also being interested in de Ligt too. However, the 19 year old may take matters into his own hands by waiting it out – which could lead to a bit of a stand off between the two parties.
