Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal that AS Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis will be handed a new deal at Stadio Olimpico.
The 37-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and he wants to remain with the Giallorossi for another season before ending his playing career.
And while the club officials were debating whether to keep hold of the veteran keeper, they have decided to offer him a new one-year contract.
De Sanctis is considered a model professional and his performances remain at a very high level.
Talented goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski has shown some potential this season, but the Giallorossi do not believe he is ready to replace the Italy international just yet.
De Sanctis, who joined Roma on a free transfer from Napoli in the summer of 2013, has so far made 44 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi, while starting two Champions League fixtures as well.
