Although Athletic Bilbao might have been left hugely frustrated last season as they missed out on the chance to book a European return, Sunday’s guests are tipped as a leading top-six contender this time around. Last seen in La Liga action putting in a rampant performance as they stormed their way to a 4-0 victory against Rayo Vallecano, Ernesto Valverde’s men have collected 10 points from their previous four top-flight appearances. Heading into November’s international break with an action-packed 4-3 win against Celta Vigo, the former Barcelona boss will also be excited by his side’s free-scoring performances in the final third. Notching 12 strikes in their last four La Liga showdowns and opening this weekend’s fixtures sat just three points adrift of breaking into the Champions League spots, Athletic Bilbao will certainly be smelling a golden chance when they travel to Granada on Sunday afternoon. While the Nasrids might have secured a La Liga return last season, Alexander Medina’s camp have struggled to find any kind of stability this time around. Last seen getting hit with a routine 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid, the Andalusia-based outfit have failed to muster a single victory across any format since the end of August. Collecting just seven points from their first 15 top-flight appearances this season and firmly battling it out at the foot of the table, Granada should face a stern challenge when they return to the Nuevo Los Carmenes this weekend.

15:30 Zurich vs Luzern

Although Zurich might have found themselves at the heart of a real battle to keep hold of their top-flight status last season, Bo Henriksen’s side are enjoying a history-making flurry this time around. Leading the chase at the top of the Super League standings and with their sights now firmly set on recapturing their domestic crown, Sunday’s hosts have suffered just a single defeat from their first 15 appearances this season. With the mood around the Letzigrund at a continued high, the former Midtjylland boss will be calling on his squad to make another statement here. Last seen putting in a stunning display as they cruised their way to a 3-1 romp against bitter title rivals Young Boys, Zurich have also found a real clinical edge in the final third. Heading into November’s international break with a 3-0 victory against Lugano, Henriksen’s side should be smelling a potential opportunity this weekend. Although Luzern might have hoped that they had turned a welcomed corner last month, Sunday’s guests have continued to show some glaring issues this season. Last seen getting hit with a toothless 1-0 loss at the hands of Lugano, Mario Frick’s side have lost four of their previous six outings. With their recent issues underlined by a 6-1 drumming against Young Boys, the ex-Vaduz boss should also be worried by his most recent meeting against the title contenders. Hit with a 4-1 drumming when they last met Zurich back on October 1st, we are expecting a similar home victory here.
