December 17th: Tuesday’s Daily Double – 4/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

While the EFL Cup quarter-final ties might steal plenty of the midweek headlines, Tuesday offers some intriguing affairs from across the continent.

Alongside a quartet of Segunda showdowns, we also have a handful of showdowns from across England’s sixth-tier.

For those of you looking to stick on a Tuesday flutter, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing betting tips.

18:00 Granada vs Cartagena

Putting in a downbeat performance over the weekend as they slumped to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Real Oviedo, Granada will be seeking an immediate response here. Nevertheless, still with their sights set on punching a play-off ticket this season, Fran Escriba’s men will be excited by their success on home soil. Getting December underway with a thumping 3-0 romp against Racing Santander, the Nasrids will be hoping for a repeat performance on Tuesday night. Including an action-packed 3-2 win agains Eldense, Granada have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous eight showdowns at the Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes. With that extended flurry stemming all the way back to the end of August, attacking talisman Mytro Uzuni should play a leading role. Including a brace against Santander on December 7th, the Albania International has already registered 11 Segunda strikes from his first 16 appearances.

Enduring what has been a real Segunda nightmare this season, Cartagena are already seeking a real miracle. Only putting 13 points on the board from their first 19 appearances, Tuesday’s guests are pencilled in as a landslide relegation contender. Opening the midweek fixtures sat eight points adrift of Segunda safety, Jandro Castro’s side will be bracing themselves for another real examination here. Last seen over the weekend putting in another worrying performance as they slumped to a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Castellon, the Murcia-based outfit have lost six of their previous eight Segunda appearances. Signing off November with a 2-1 loss at home against Almeria, Cartagena have also put just a pair of victories against second-tier opposition since the end of September. It’s also worth highlighting, Castro’s struggling squad have lost each of their last six straight Segunda battles away from the Estadio Municipal Cartagonova.

19:45 Tonbridge vs Chesham

Making an immediate return to winning ways over the weekend as they claimed a 2-1 victory against relegation scrappers Aveley, Tonbridge are enjoying a recent flurry. Signing off November with a gritty 1-0 win away at Weymouth, the Kent-based outfit have lost just one of their previous five National League South appearances. Dragging themselves into the top-half of the table and looking to move within touching distance of the play-off places, Jay Saunders’ men will be smelling a potential opportunity here. Enjoying their brightest run of the season, Tonbridge will also be excited by their continued success on home soil. Including a 2-0 victory against Hemel Hempstead last month, Tuesday’s hosts have collected nine points from their previous three National League South showdowns at the Longed Stadium. Likewise, continuing on from last season, Saunders’ side have suffered just a sole sixth-tier defeat in Kent since the start of April.

Putting in a nightmare performance over the weekend as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Boreham Wood, Chesham have endured a real struggle over the past month. Crashing out of the FA Trophy last week as they were hit with a 3-2 defeat at home against Salisbury, Tuesday’s guests have now lost each of their previous three appearances across all competitions. Opening December with a 3-1 drumming against Hornchurch, the Buckinghamshire-based outfit have recorded just a single win from any of their last six consecutive outings. Tumbling their way down the National League South standings, Chesham have also shown some glaring defensive struggles. Losing their last three outings by an aggregate score of 9-3, the Generals could have another tricky test on their hands here. It should also be noted, the midweek guests have recorded just a sole win on their travels since the middle of September.
