December 2nd: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

With all of Europe’s elite getting back underway this weekend, we have a string of heavyweight affairs from across the continent.

In what promises to be an action-packed schedule from the likes of England, Spain and Germany, we have found a trio of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for throughout Saturday.

Saturday, December 2nd

BST 13:00 Girona vs Valencia

While Girona might have lost their spot at the top of the La Liga table last weekend, Saturday’s hosts are enjoying what has been a record-breaking run of form since opening up the 2023/24 campaign. Suddenly sat in pole position to punch a famous Champions League ticket this season, Michel’s men have already cemented their spot as one of Europe’s surprise packages. With just their goal difference keeping them behind Spanish icons Real Madrid, the Blanquivermells have remarkably suffered just a single defeat from any of their first 15 domestic appearances across all formats. Likewise, collecting 16 points from their last six top-flight showdowns, Girona have also picked up some heavyweight scalps this season. Continuing to make real history over the past few months, Michel’s record-breaking squad will simply be looking to extend on their La Liga romp here. On the flip side, while Valencia might have opened up the new campaign with their sights set on mounting a genuine European charge, the Bats have shown some extended inconsistencies on either side of November’s international break. Winning just a pair of their previous eight La Liga showdowns, Saturday’s guests have also shown some rather glaring issues on the road. In fact, Valencia are without a win from their last six straight away fixtures. Hit with a 1-0 loss when they last travelled to Girona back on February 5th, we are expecting a similar outcome this weekend.

Tip: Girona win & Under 4.5 goals @ 21/20

15:00 Stevenage vs Port Vale

Although Stevenage might have only made their League One return this season, Saturday’s hosts are enjoying what has quickly become a real fairytale. Continuing to gain a string of plaudits and with the mood in Steve Evans’ camp at a red-hot high, the Hertfordshire-based outfit are certainly waving a major wave of momentum. Remarkably scrapping it out at the top of the third-tier standings and just three points adrift of breaking into the automatic promotion places. While the Boro might have been last seen eventually having to settle for a 2-2 stalemate against Peterborough, the former Gillingham boss finds his squad in the midst of a nine-match unbeaten run across all competitions. With that stunning purple patch stemming all the way back to October 14th, Stevenage will certainly be excited to turn their attention back to FA Cup duties on Saturday afternoon. Extending on their adventure thanks to an action-packed 4-3 victory against Tranmere last month, Evans’ side should be smelling a potential opportunity here. While Stevenage might be battling it out at the top of the League One standings, Port Vale are firmly at the heart of a relegation scrap. Last seen putting in another toothless display as they slumped to a 1-0 loss at home against Derby, Saturday’s guests have secured just a single win from any of their previous six appearances across all competitions. Given what has been a huge recent gulf in class, we are backing what could be an enjoyable home victory this weekend.

Tip: Stevenage win @ 19/20

17:30 Stuttgart vs Werder Bremen

While Stuttgart might have only just about dragged themselves to Bundesliga safety last season, Saturday’s hosts are in the midst of what has become a history-making romp. Battling it out at the top of the table and remarkably tipped as a leading contender to punch a Champions League ticket this time around, Sebastian Hoeneß’s side are riding a stunning wave of momentum. Marking their return from November’s international break with another eye-catching display as they landed a 2-1 victory away at Eintracht Frankfurt, Stuttgart have already collected 17 points from their first 12 Bundesliga appearances. Likewise, now winning 11 of their previous 13 appearances across all competitions, Hoeneß’s high-flying squad will certainly be smelling the chance to make another domestic statement here. Gaining a real reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third, Stuttgart will be confident of cashing in on a Werder Bremen squad that are enduring an extended Bundesliga rut. Last seen getting hit with a woeful 3-0 drumming at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen, have collected just a single win from their previous seven appearances – a run that stems all the way back to September 23rd. Slipping out the top-half of the standings, it should also be noted that Saturday’s guests have collected just one point from their last four contests on the road. Shipping a staggering 11 strikes in those four consecutive away fixtures, Bremen’s leaky defence faces a real challenge this weekend.
