December 9th: Monday’s European Double – 5/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With all eyes falling on the London Stadium on Monday night, West Ham and Wolves will meet for what is a real six-pointer for both of the Premier League strugglers.

However, with fixtures from, the likes of Serie A and La Liga on Monday night, we have a handful of intriguing battles from across Europe’s elite.

For those of you looking to stick on a Monday flutter, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing European betting tips.

19:45 Metz vs Dunkerque

Losing their Ligue 1 status last season, it is no secret that Metz have their sights firmly set on securing an immediate top-flight return. Hoping to make up some ground and move within touching distance of the automatic promotion spots, the Maroons have come roaring back sine their inconsistent start to proceedings. Extending on their Coupe de France adventure last weekend as they clinched a 1-0 victory away at Raon L Etape, Monday’s hosts are unbeaten in all of their previous five appearances across all competitions. Likewise, mustering seven points from their previous three Ligue 2 appearances, Stephane Le Mignan’s men will know the importance of making another promotion statement here. It should also be noted, Metz have certainly gained a real reputation for their success on home soil. Last seen at the Stade Saint-Symphorien claiming a 1-0 win against Caen, Les Grenats have won each of their last six straight showdowns in front of their own supporters.

While Dunkerque might have found themselves at the heart of a Ligue 2 relegation scrap last season, Monday’s guests have cemented their spot as one of France’s ultimo surprise packages. Last seen in second-tier action signing off November with a 1-0 victory against Ajaccio, Luís Castro’s men remarkably sit within touching distance of climbing to the top of the table. Rightfully receiving a string of plaudits and with the mood in Dunkirk at a red-hot high, Les Maritimes have won each of their previous five appearances across all competitions. Extending on their respective Coupe de France campaign last week as they claimed a routine 2-0 win against Aubervilliers, Monday’s guests will also be excited by their recent defensive steel. In fact, Dunkerque have not conceded a single strike in all of their last four consecutive outings. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, the former Benfica coach has seen his squad record three straight clean sheets away from the Stade Marcel-Tribut.

20:00 West Ham vs Wolves

While West Ham might have marked their return from November’s international break with a shock 2-0 victory away at Newcastle, it appears that was just a minor boost for the Hammers. With Julen Lopetegui somehow clinging to his job in east London, the former Wolves boss finds his future hanging in the balance on Monday night. With the Spanish tactician facing what is a career-defining showdown here, West Ham have drastically struggled to find any kind of fluidity under the one-time Real Madrid manager and they are looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap. Falling to a 3-1 drumming at the hands of fellow strugglers Leicester earlier in the week, the Hammers have also shown a string of issues at the London Stadium this season. Last seen in front of their own supporters falling to a 5-2 defeat against Arsenal, Monday’s hosts have recorded just a pair of wins from any of their first seven Premier League appearances in the capital.

Putting in their own nightmare performance earlier in the week as they slumped to a 4-0 loss away at Everton, Wolves find themselves in an almost identical position to Monday’s opponents. With the pressure on Gary O’Neil’s shoulders at a boiling point, they are still scrapping it out in the relegation zone and have broken plenty of unwanted records so far this season, Signing off November with a 4-2 defeat at home against Bournemouth, Wolves have won just a pair of their first 14 Premier League appearances so far this season. Shipping eight goals in their back-to-back losses over the past week, O’Neil’s men have also continued to show some glaring defensive struggles. In fact, already shipping 36 Premier League goals, Monday’s guests hold the worst-defensive tally among England’s elite. It should also be noted, the Midlands-based outfit slumped to a routine 3-0 drumming when they traveled to the London Stadium last season.
