Switzerland international defender Philipp Degen has admitted he is keen on leaving Premier League side Liverpool this summer.
The 27-year-old has been told by new manager Roy Hodgson that he is not part of his plans at Anfield.
“If it is necessary after all, I am going to change clubs,” he told Swiss newspaper BLICK.
“I am not keen on sitting on the bench any longer, the last two years were enough. No one should really forget it needs hard work to recover from injuries and get back to the usual level of performances.
“And I have had really good matches for the club.”
