Besiktas are weighing up move for Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe, according to Turkish newspaper Fanatik.
It is no secret the Turkish giants are in the market for a new striker and they initially attempted to sign Emmanuel Adebayor from White Hart Lane.
However, after the Togo international rejected a switch to Turkey, the Black Eagles have turned their attention to Jermain Defoe.
Spurs are likely to allow one of their strikers to leave this summer having captured Roberto Soldado from Valencia, and there is every chance the England international will be leaving the Lane in search of first team football.
Defoe, 30, started no less than 27 Premier League fixtures last term, scoring a total of 11 league goals, but there is every chance he will be relegated to the bench following Soldado’s arrival.
While scoring more than 100 Premiership goals for West Ham, Tottenham and Portsmouth, the experienced forward has earned 54 England caps, scoring 19 goals.
