Southampton defender Dejan Lovren has suggested that he is aware of the reported interest from Liverpool, but denied there has been any contact with the Reds.
The Anfield outfit are reportedly considering a move for the Croatian centre-back as Brendan Rodgers hopes to shake up his defensive options.
And while Lovren insists he is happy at Southampton, he has refused to deny a summer move away from St Mary’s.
“I have heard about the speculation as well, that is I read about the Liverpool interest in a newspaper,” Lovren told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti.
“That is all I know so far. I feel great at Southampton and I have three years left on my contract, meaning the club will decide on my future.”
Dejan Lovren joined the Saints from Lyon last summer and he has enjoyed an excellent start to his career in England.
The 24-year-old went on to make 31 Premier League appearances for Southampton and scored 2 goals in the process.
Lovren has recently been linked with quite a few top clubs from English Premier League and it appears as though the Saints face a real battle on their hands in an attempt to keep hold of their prized asset.
