(GSM) – Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque is optimistic that Liverpool ace Fernando Torres can recover from the knee operation and return to action in Spain’s final warm-up game against Poland on Tuesday.

Torres is now the only member of the Spain squad who is yet to take part in any of the warm-up matches. The Reds forward is recovering from a knee surgery after tearing cartilage during the Eruopa League encounter with Benfica in April.

“We have good feelings (about Torres). I hope that he can play a bit on Tuesday against Poland in order to head into the final stages of preparation in the best condition,” said Del Bosque after Spain beat South Korea by 1-0.

“It’s not something that has surprised us because we knew beforehand that we would have this situation with Fernando, but I have faith he will be fine for the World Cup,” he said.

Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas is another major headache for the boss, who is recovering from a cracked bone in his fibula to face South Korea on Thursday.

“Coming back from injury there have been a lot of training sessions and the legs are feeling it,” Fabregas told reporters.

“I still need minutes on the pitch to get back my rhythm but the overall feeling is good,” the Gunners playmaker revealed.

Spain start their World Cup campaign against Switzerland on June 16.
