(GSM) – Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque sees the Netherlands as a major threat to his side’s dreams of glory at South Africa 2010. Del Bosque squad have reached their first final and the Dutch their third by sticking to an attack-minded style.
The European champion Spain plays the Netherlands on Sunday and one team will leave South Africa with its first World Cup title. But the Furia Roja boss is desperate to bring the most prestigious prize in world football back home to Spain.
“They’re very similar to us, players of great technical ability in midfield,” said Del Bosque ahead of Sunday’s clash.
“Players of great quality and very fast that don’t improvise as much as we do, but play a more dangerous direct game. A very dangerous team.”
The Spanish coach revealed that he does not know if he will select Fernando Torres for the World cup final with the Oranje.
“I don’t know if he will be in the line-up,” Del Bosque told the Daily Express.
“It was a difficult choice. Torres has been helping us all along. His work is important even if it is not noticed. He is good at occupying the centre-backs.
“I didn’t talk to him before I announced the line-up (against Germany).
“But he is a very important part of the team. He is one of the key members of the squad and a lovely guy.”
