Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri has hinted that he may make changes to his team for the visit of Polish side Lech Poznan in their opening Europa League Group A game on Thursday.
“In certain positions, you have to make a choice,” said Delneri.
“We can’t calculate, but we’ve got enough matches to play that we’ll absolutely have to give a rest to those who’ve played all the matches and who’ve trained less, like our internationals.”
Juve qualified for the Europa League, Europe’s second-tier cup competition, after a disappointing seventh-place finish in Serie A last season, but Del Neri said winning the tournament was a top priority.
“We have a great motivation for this competition, particularly when you look at the opponents we will face,” said Del Neri, whose side must also contend with Manchester City and Red Bull Salzburg in their group.
“Juve don’t set limits and that’s that.”
Delneri arrived from Sampdoria in the summer and has overseen a 1-0 defeat at Bari and a 3-3 draw at home to Sampdoria in his first two league games in charge.
