(GSM) – Luigi Del Neri has said for the first time that he would relish the opportunity to coach Italian giants Juventus.
The 59-year-old tactician helped Sampdoria secure fourth place in Serie A and the final Champions League berth. According to local reports Del Neri will become Juve’s new coach either on Tuesday or Wednesday.
“In effect I feel a great enthusiasm. Juve represent a point of departure or even one of arrival. At a club like Juve you are forced to carry great objectives. I will have to be demanding with the players, the club and myself,” Del Neri told the Tuttosport.
“It’s always the club that makes a Coach great, not the opposite. I have to take in the news. We [at Sampdoria] have been so focused on the Champions League that I have not had time to think about it,” former Atalanta boss said.
“I am sincere. It had been much more difficult to take over a team that has won everything. Here there is the need to rebuild a mentality.
“There aren’t any doubts on the fact that the components of the squad know how to play football. I think it’s necessary to work on the attitude,” Italy tactician talked about Juventus job.
