(GSM) – Ahead of the his side’s trip to Catania, Juventus manager Luigi Del Neri has called on his players to focus on their Serie A mission.
The club was surprisingly eliminated of the Europa League on Thursday after their draw away to Lech Poznan.
But Del Neri wants the squad to concentrate on what he believes will be a ‘difficult’ game against Catania in Serie A.
“We do not feel guilty at exiting the competition, as we gave it our all. If anything, the complicated start to the season is what doomed us,” argued the Coach.
“Catania is a difficult place to play because of their quality and the great atmosphere provided by the crowd. They have real pace and are well-trained by Marco Giampaolo, particularly intense on home turf.
“We must go into away games in order to win, as it’s the only way we can stay tied to the top teams.
“Now we must focus on Serie A, as this Juve side is capable of challenging with the leading clubs. We’ve got to be more concentrated on free kicks, as recently we hardly conceded any goals from open play.”
Claudio Marchisio is suspended for the match while Nicola Legrottaglie may be set for a bench role after returning from injury.
