(GSM) – Juventus manager Luigi Del Neri is happy with the team’s recent performances and has set his sights on the Serie A title.

After an impressive 2-1 victory at the expense of Milan at San Siro, Juventus lie in fourth place in the Serie A table.

And Del Neri has revealed the growing enthusiasm and belief among the Juventus camp, hoping that the club can go back to winning titles this season.

Interviewed on Radio anch’io lo sport, Del Neri was positive about Juventus’ chances of clinching the title, expressing his pride with Juventus’ growth during his reign.

“We are working for this,” he said. “In terms of mentality we are equal to anyone. There is a lot of enthusiasm to grow within the club, to give a lot to Italian football, to the fans, to everyone because they deserve it.

“Let’s say that we are on the right path. There is a lot of work to do, but the lads have applied themselves a lot.

“It’s an interesting season. Lazio are certainly the most in form team. They are having a great start to this season, which has been uncertain.

“Similarly to us, there is growth within the group: Lazio and Juve are trying to do this and make their mark.”

Del Neri was also impressed with Simone Pepe’s adaptability after the manager resorted to the forward to cover for the injuries of the first-team’s left-backs: “We can try Simone Pepe at full-back as a temporary solution.

“Simone has great qualities when adapting himself in emergencies. Juve is worker-like in spirit and strength. There is a great capacity to adapt,” he concluded.
