Juventus icon Alessandro Del Piero is set for a summer move to LA Galaxy, football pundit Gianni Balzarini claims.
The veteran forward has already confirmed his plans to leave the Bianconeri at the end of the season, but he is adamant that he will not retire for another few years.
Del Piero’s contract at Juventus Arena is set to expire in June 2012 and he looks set to leave the Old Lady after 19 seasons.
Mediaset pundit Gianni Balzarini believes that Del Piero is set for a move to Los Angeles Galaxy.
“He is attracted to the experience in America,” Gianni Balzarini told Radiomercato.
“As he is a fan of the Lakers basketball team, it’s likely he will go to Los Angeles for the Galaxy.
“They’d give him a huge amount of money, but obviously that is not the reason for his move to the MLS.”
In case he accepts the offer from the MLS giants, Alessandro Del Piero would join superstars David Beckham and Robbie Keane in Los Angeles.
United States international Landon Donovan is also playing for LA Galaxy and he just returned to the side following a very successful loan spell at Everton.
The 37-year-old Del Piero has mostly been restricted to substitute appearances this season, having started just 3 Serie A games this term.
