Despite reports suggesting that former Juventus forward Alessandro Del Piero has signed for Sidney, the veteran footballer has yet to make a decision on his future.
The 37-year-old has been a free agent since his contract at Juventus Arena expired in June, and he has spent much of the summer searching for a new club.
After announcing that he would never play for another Italian club, Del Piero has been linked with just about any foreign club there is.
The media reports suggested that the player has agreed a switch to A-League club Sidney FC, but the player’s collaborator Andrea D’Amico has moved to deny the reports.
“Del Piero has not rejected Sion,” collaborator Andrea D’Amico told Italian news agency Itasportpress.
“The truth is that Alessandro hasn’t yet decided his destination and wants to keep all the potential options open.”
Alessandro Del Piero has surprised everyone by deciding to leave Juventus after 19 years at the club, during which he made 513 Serie A appearances and scored 208 goals for the Bianconeri.
