Delph keen to extend Villa stay

Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph has insisted that he has no intention of seeking a move elsewhere, according to the Daily Star.

The 24 year old has endured a largely frustrating time since signing from Leeds United in January 2012 having spent much time on the side-lines.

However, he appeared in all but four of the club’s league games last season, scoring three times, and was named player of the season by the Villa fans.

His form even saw some call for him to be recognised internationally at senior level, having won just two caps for the U21’s in his career so far.

He is entering the final year of his contract with the Midlands club, but is keep to sign a new deal to pay back the faith owner Randy Lerner has shown in him.

Villa begin the season with a trip to Stoke City, where they can be backed at 13/5 to take all three points.
