Daily Mirror is reporting that talented winger Demarai Gray is almost certain to leave Birmingham City for greener pastures in January.
The 19-year-old has largely impressed since getting promoted to the senior set up at St Andrew’s, and he was the subject of heavy interest from newly promoted AFC Bournemouth in the summer.
Birmingham reportedly rejected bids in excess of £5 million for their prized asset, but could, nonetheless, stay without Gray in the winter.
Namely, the youngster’s release clause will be mere £3.5 million in the January transfer window, before the amount is lowered to £3 million next summer.
This means that there will be quite a few top sides from English Premier League looking to take advantage of the opportunity and sign one of England’s hottest prospects at a bargain price.
Liverpool and Bayern Munich are both being linked with January bids, with the player who scored 7 goals in 55 appearances for Birmingham City widely expected to leave after the New Year.
