Dembele ‘assured’ of Barcelona future

According to a recent report from Marca, Barcelona club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has assured Ousmane Dembele that he has a future at the Nou Camp. He had previously been heavily linked with a switch to European champions Liverpool, as well as Paris Saint-Germain. However, his agent has been informed that Barcelona want to keep trying to get the best out of him, as opposed to giving up after such a big investment.

The possibility of Dembele going elsewhere was certainly an interesting one, but it always felt like PSG made way more sense that Liverpool. Heading to Anfield would’ve felt like a big time risk, especially given the competition within their ranks for a place in the starting XI. With Paris Saint-Germain, though, you would have to imagine that he would’ve walked into the first team.

Either way, it should be exciting to see what Barcelona do in order to facilitate him.
