Dempsey set for Fulham return

Clint Dempsey is set to return to Fulham on a two month loan deal, according to the Guardian.

With the MLS season not beginning until March 8th, the US captain has held productive talks with his former club, and could return when the transfer window opens on January 1st.

The 30 year old moved to Seattle Sounders in August after seven and a half years in the English top flight.

His original spell at Craven Cottage lasted for all but one of those campaigns, with a season long spell at Tottenham Hotspur coming afterwards.

His year at White Hart Lane was relatively successful with twelve goals in forty-one outings across all competitions, though he made a surprise return to Major League Soccer with Siegfried Schmid’s side during the summer.

Since arriving in Seattle Dempsey, who is the highest scoring American in Premier League history, has managed just one goal in twelve appearances.
