Dempsey set for Premier League return

Daily Mirror is reporting that Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey is set to return to English Premier League.

The 30-year-old only joined the MLS side in the summer, but a clause in his contract reportedly ensures he can return to the Premier League on loan during the MLS off-season.

According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham have the first option on the player, but it remains to be seen if Spurs will make a move on the USA international with so many attacking options already at their disposal.

Meanwhile, Fulham, Aston Villa and Everton are likely to join the chase for the highly rated footballer.

Clint Dempsey has struggled to find his form since returning to the United States, having scored just one goal in 12 league appearances for Seattle Sounders.

He was also forced to withdraw from the USA squad for international friendlies against Scotland and Austria due to a calf problem.
