Leander Dendoncker, currently on loan at Woverhampton Wanderers from Anderlecht, spoke to the press in Belgium (as relayed by Sky Sports), and revealed that his future may be to remain at the Molineux Stadium on a permanent basis. The Premier League side, who have finished in seventh place this season and will play qualifications for the Europa League providing that Manchester City beat Watford in the FA Cup final, have the option of buying the Belgian for just over £12 million this summer, which they are expected to trigger.
The 24-year-old midfielder, also capable of slotting in at centre-back, said he feels good at Wolverhampton, and he is happy with the group of players that have assembled there under the command of manager Nuno Espirito Santo. He also expressed his hope that the team will get a chance to try themselves in a European competition.
Wolves were defeated by Liverpool at Anfield in the last league round of the season, in a game which saw the home team raise their campaign total to 97 points – still insufficient to win the title.
