Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev has admitted that he hopes to remain with Valencia after his loan spell comes to an end.
The Russian footballer joined los Che in January on loan until the end of the season and he has since been in very good form.
Having finally secured much needed first team football, Cheryshev clearly has no plans to go back to Santiago Bernabeu and hopes that Valencia will eventually decide to purchase him outright.
“I’d be delighted (to stay at Valencia),” he told Superdeporte.
“I’ve been very comfortable here from the beginning and everyone’s taken to me phenomenally, the fans, peers, coaches and club. However, (staying here) doesn’t depend on me 100 percent.”
Cheryshev had previously enjoyed a successful loan spell with Villarreal, but he was never given a real opportunity to shine at Santiago Bernabeu.
Nevertheless, he appears to have enjoyed exposure to first team football, having scored 2 goals in 5 La Liga starts with los Che.
The 25-year-old will be hoping that the good run of form will eventually improve his chances of making the Russia squad for the Euro 2016 finals, as he has only made one appearance under new coach Leonid Slutsky.
