Brazilian side Corinthians left it until late to equalise against Colombia’s Independiente Medellin and defend their lead in Group 1 of the Copa Libertadores.
The match was played in Colombia’s capital city Bogota rather than Medellin, as Independiente’s stadium is undergoing reconstruction ahead of next year’s Youth World Cup.
It took 76 minutes for the match to see its first goal, and it was Medellin’s Cesar Valoyes to put his side in the lead.
But five minutes before the end of regular time, Dentinho’s shot from outside the penalty area levelled the score and earned Corinthians a vital point.
The Brazilians remain in first place with four points from two games. Racing Club (3) follow in second, ahead of Medellin (2) and Cerro Porteño (1).
