Depay pushing for Lyon departure

According to Fabrizio Romano, Memphis Depay is pushing to leave Lyon after agreeing personal terms with Barcelona in the last few years.

Ronald Koeman, the new boss at the Nou Camp, considers Depay to be one of his primary targets heading into the new La Liga campaign. Depay, in return, wants to join Barcelona too, but there is no official bid from Barcelona up to this point.

The Spanish giants are reportedly waiting to get a few players out of the door before they make any decisions regarding new signings, but it does feel like this Depay move will go through – and it’s just a matter of when, not if.

It feels like Depay has been playing at the top level for years now, and yet at the age of 26, he still has a whole lot of time left to develop and grow into the kind of world class star many fans and pundits believed he always could be.
