Depay seeking Real Madrid move

Former Manchester United flop Memphis Depay has set himself the goal of securing a move to Spanish super club Real Madrid, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The dutch winger is reported to have said: “I think I’m going to Real Madrid. Yes, that’s a serious goal.” The comments come despite Depay having spent less than a year at his current club Lyon, though his time in France has been far more fruitful than his spell in Manchester. Depay has bagged seven goals in 24 Ligue 1 games since January – a far better total already than the two he managed in a season and a half of Premier League football.

It was at PSV that the winger shot to stardom, scoring 49 goals in four season for the Dutch club in all competitions and exhibiting the electrifying pace and silky skills that earned him his move to Manchester United. It appears that Depay is getting back to that sort of form at Lyon but it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will show any interest.
