Norwegian side Brann Bergen are close to reaching the next round in the UEFA Cup after a somewhat surprising 2-0 win over Deportivo la Coruña.
Brann haven’t been very successful in the Norwegian league as of late, and failed to get past Olympique de Marseille to make it into the Champions League group phase.
But the Scandinavians showed a completely different performance in their first leg clash with Deportivo on Thursday. Bjarnason put the home side in the lead from the penalty spot in thr 25th minute and Solli doubled the advantage six minutes before the break.
Despite having fielded experienced players as Guardado and Valeron, the Spanish guests couldn’t force a comeback and now face a difficult task in the second leg at Riazor.
