Derby 17/20 to beat Ipswich in Wednesday’s Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Derby win

Odds: 17/20 @ Bet 365

Carrying on their remarkable run of form entering the New Year, Frank Lampard’s Derby side will travel to a struggling Ipswich on Wednesday.

Starting with Paul Lambert’s Ipswich side, coming off the back of a 3-0 hammering at home to Norwich in the East Anglia derby, it’s no surprise that the Blues are favorites for the drop this season. Now on a run of form that has seen them lose their last four Championship outings, it will be their form in the final third giving the former Stoke boss the biggest headache. In nearly 400 minutes of action, Ipswich have managed to find the net just once. Now sat five points adrift at the foot of the table, Wednesday could prove to be another tough test for Lambert’s men.

As for Lampard’s side, putting in another impressive display in their 2-0 win over Hull on Saturday, the mood in Derby’s camp couldn’t be any higher. With only their goal difference keeping them outside the top six, the Rams are unbeaten in any competition since the 11th of January and have won four of their last five outings. Knocking Premier League outfit Southampton out of the FA Cup on that run, Derby have also begun to show real improvements on their travels. Lampard’s men have now lost just one of their last five matches away from Pride Park and should be confident of extending that tally in midweek.
