Derby County have been strongly linked with a move for Aston Villa forward Andreas Weimann, according to the Mail Online.
The 23 year old has started just one game since Tim Sherwood took charge at Villa Park and was not included in the Midlands side’s match day squad for their FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal at the weekend.
Now the Villa boss has told the Austria international that he can find a new club and Derby, who have just appointed Paul Clement as their new head coach, are the front runners in the race to secure his services.
Since making his debut for the club, Weimann has racked up one hundred and twenty-six appearances in all competitions for Villla, scoring twenty-four goals while he has also had two loan spells with Watford in the Championship.
He also has thirteen senior caps for his country, but is yet to score.
