Derby County are interested in signing Phil Jones from Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Star. Fellow Championship club Middlesbrough are also keen on the England international central defender, and so are Premier League side Burnley.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche is looking at the 28-year-old central defender as a potential replacement for James Tarkowski, who is on the radar of Premier League rivals West Ham United and is valued at £40 million. The Hammers wanted the England international in the summer transfer window and remain keen on the 27-year-old.
Jones has been left out of United’s Premier League squad. The former Blackburn Rovers star made just two appearances in the league for the Red Devils and played 202 minutes in the Europa League for the Red Devils last season, according to WhoScored.
