Derby interested in Austin

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Derby County are interested in trying to sign Charlie Austin before the window shuts.

Austin is currently in the final year of his contract with West Bromwich Albion and he would reportedly be open to the idea of leaving The Hawthorns to make sure he gets regular first team football.

Derby have had a tough start to the new Championship campaign and after years of pushing for promotion, it doesn’t seem as if that’s the direction they’re heading in right now. Instead, they’re staring at the possibility of a relegation scrap.

Austin is the kind of forward that you can always rely on to make a difference and even though he might not be the most consistent goalscorer, he knows what to do in the second tier. The Rams are in desperate need of goals and he can definitely provide them with that.
