AS Roma striker Mattia Destro has confirmed he is set to join AC Milan by saying goodbye to the Giallorossi fans via his Facebook account.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs have agreed on a loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy for €16 million.
As a result, Destro is undergoing a medical in Milan and should join his new teammates later today.
The Rossoneri were desperate to add a high-quality centre forward by the end of the winter transfer window and they will be delighted to have recruited one of Italy’s most talented footballers.
Despite showing a great deal of potential at Stadio Olimpico, notching 24 goals in 57 Serie A outings, Destro was never able to establish himself as a first team regular.
The 23-year-old now hopes to help AC Milan secure Champions League qualification, with the Rossoneri 33/1 for a top 3 finish.
