Arsenal suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Olympiacos at the Emirates on Thursday and have been knocked out of the Europa League. The Gunners had won the first leg in Greece by 0-1, but Olympiacos announced the surprise when Pape Abou Cisse struck to cancel the first-leg result out after 53 minutes. The game went into extra time and the home fans exploded with joy as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a fantastic overhead kick in the 113th minute for Arsenal to regain their advantage. But their happiness was short-lived, with the visitors having one more surprise in store. Youssef El Arabi made sure his team were the ones to progress in the final minute of the 120.
Even then Aubameyang had a great chance to turn the tie on its head once more, but this time he missed the target completely from a clear-cut chance.
His disappointment was clear in his post-match interview.
"It's very hard, very tough."
A crestfallen Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struggles to find the words to explain his last-minute miss which saw Arsenal fall out of the Europa League.
